LET’S TALK ABOUT CENTER PARCS…

So let’s talk Center Parcs. Here’s the thing – I had a great time. There’s no denying it BUT I had a great time because I was there with our mates and kids to celebrate a 40th. We laughed, we drank, we played games, we swam and we rode bikes. We also paid a lot of money to be there and, when all is said and done, I reckon I can think of a million things I’d rather have thrown cash at…like a colonic irrigation while drinking bin juice through a donkey’s foreskin. CAMP BESTIVAL: THE BEST OF TIMES AND THE WORST OF TIMES

Camp Bestival is, hands down, the best festival you can go to if you want to take kids. As someone who use to tour with bands married to someone who still tours with bands, we generally avoid festivals for ‘fun’ like the plague. It’s the ultimate bus man’s holiday but this year we decided to take the plunge and give it a shot. It didn’t all go to plan but, much like childbirth, I’m already forgetting the pain and remember nothing but an amazing experience that I’m already looking forward to doing again next year. Entertraining

Today I’m travelling on my own. I am without my husband. I am without my Small. This is a liberating experience. I’ve achieved an enormous amount and done it fuelled by a couple of glasses of prosecco as I travel on an overcrowded Virgin train to Windermere. Across the aisle is a dad with a boy of about a year and while I’m high-fiving my child-free self every time I look at them, I’m also desperate to shout, ‘Is there anything I can do to help?’ Continue reading
