SMUG SCHOOL is Live!
As the covid-19 pandemic starts to impact our daily lives more and more, I’ve come to the stark and somewhat unsettling realisation that I am, somehow going to have to keep my kids occupied and if that means having to resort to some sort of useful learning type stuff (note how I am actively avoiding the term HOMESCHOOL) then that’s what it’s going to have to be because even my kids can’t watch the TV 24/7.
Firstly, there’s absolutely no pressure. Distance learning can come in a million different forms and lessons like the ones I have collated here are not essential by any means. As an ex-teacher though, this kind of structure is something that I’m comfortable with and so, I’ve put my somewhat rusty skills to use to come up with some lessons that you can either follow to the letter OR use as inspiration. I have included art, reading, writing, quizzes, videos and a host of ideas for surrounding activities. I hope it’s useful.
I have also included some resources I’ve downloaded from Twinkl. They currently have a free subscription offer due to the corona-clusterfuck but to save you fannying around, I’ll save everything I can in the GDrive. I really hope that’s useful. Have fun, ignore it if you want, use as much or as little as you need and good fucking luck my friends.
